Room Parents Needed!

A great way to get involved in your child’s classroom is to become a room parent.  This unique opportunity allows you to support your child’s teacher and to interact with your child’s classmates.

Responsibilities of a room parent include:

Organize Classroom Parties:  
-Collect supplies, organize crafts, create games and activities.  There are typically 2 parties a year.

Communicate via Memberhub:
-Room Parents are admins of their classroom hub . Information on the Hub should be updated to include Room Parent contact information and upcoming events. Emails can be sent using Memberhub to all classroom parents who sign up to receive notifications.

Coordinate and Communicate Special Events:  
-Work with the classroom teacher to organize classroom parents for a special school events and create sign ups for volunteer opportunities. Assist in obtaining supplies for the event (ie; Autism Awareness Activities, Class Baskets for silent auction at Fun Fair, etc.)

Provide Support to Teachers:  
-Offer assistance with making copies for classroom activities, organize Scholastic Book Orders, assist with recruiting parent volunteers to chaperone field trips.

Each teacher will typically have two room parents to assist them throughout the year. In the event that there are many parents interested in assisting a certain classroom, the selected room parents would be notified of the other interested volunteers to assist during the year.

If you are selected as a room parent you will be notified by early October and will be notified of the details for the Room Parent Welcome meeting held shortly thereafter. (either via Zoom or in person, to be determined)

***Please note that this does not mean that you are personally responsible for all activities and supplies.  You will create a a class list to help you find volunteers.***
