Bar Matching Form

If you are a big law-bound 3L, you can easily help a classmate get a free bar prep course at no cost to you or your firm. You can match up with a public interest student so they receive a free course from your bar prep company. There is no extra cost to you or your law firm to participate.  All you have to do is enroll in a bar prep course and have your firm directly billed. If you have already enrolled in a bar prep course you can still be matched up! Please complete this short form as soon as you have decided which firm you are going to and have enrolled in your bar prep course (the companies have good incentives to sign up in the next few months).

If you are a public interest bound 3L, you can match with a Big Law 3L to get a free bar prep course—the same bar prep course the 3L will be getting—at no cost to you. So, not only should you fill out this form, you should get your big law friends to fill it out, too! You don’t need to have a job lined up right now, just a history or commitment to working in the public interest sector to be eligible for the program. All the bar prep companies consider clerkships to qualify as public interest.

How bar matching works: SGA’s role in this process is to match up Big Law 3Ls and public interest 3Ls. We will give each pair specific instructions on how to enroll in the matching program (typically sending just one pre-written email to your bar prep company contact). Given the number of students entering big law after graduation, it is possible for every HLS student to receive a bar prep program at no cost to themself.

This form will likely close at the end of the fall term (bar matching programs end in January 2025), but we will start making matches on November 1st.
