LGBTQ+ Institute Conference 2026
Welcome! We are thrilled to have you join us at our annual conference set to occur on April 1, 2026, 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM in ENR2 (1064 E Lowell St) and virtually via Zoom webinar.

The conference will be a single day of seminars, lunch, and keynote address by author, activist, and cultural worker, Yaffa. This year, the theme is “Becoming within Death and Kaleidoscopic Grief."

Here is a brief overview of the event and some important accessibility information. Indicate below additional accessibility needs, or reach out with any questions or concerns.

Space: All conference activity will take place on the first floor. There will be a quiet room available. Lunch will be hosted outside. Gendered restrooms are located on the first floor. The closest all gender restrooms are located on the second floor, accessible by elevator. In-person, we will have maps and volunteers to help navigate the building. The virtual space will be a webinar, so only the hosts and panelists will see the full participant lists.

Schedule: We will e-mail a full schedule out before the event. There will be 10-15-minute breaks in-between all sessions.Tentatively, we will have 3 sessions with 3-4, 15-minute presentations followed by a 10-minute discussion. We will closed with our keynote. You do not need to stay the whole event; we just ask, as much as possible, to not leave in the middle of a presentation.

Parking and Transportation: The closest parking is 6th St Garage (1119 E 6th St). The rate is $2.25 per hour between 5:00 AM - 4:59 PM with a maximum charge of $9. More information on University of Arizona parking can be found here. ENR2 is accessible by the 3 and 6 Sun Tran bus lines. University Blvd/Tyndall is the nearest Sun Link stop, about an 8-10 minute walk to ENR2. There are bicycle racks between the parking garage and ENR2. There is motorcycle parking just north of the bike racks.

Masking: Masks are required for in-person attendance. We will have extras on hand. If this presents any questions, please reach out.

Language: CART and ASL are scheduled.

Scents and Airborne Allergies: Please do not wear any strong scents, perfumes, colognes, etc.
There will be HEPA air purifiers in the large conference space and smaller breakout rooms.

Sound: We will have a quiet room and foam earplugs available. The main conference presentation space is large, so you can adjust where you sit, if needed.

Photos and Videos: No photos or video-taping will be permitted. For safety, we will not be recording the presentations.
