The Foundry House Resident Application
The Foundry House is an intentional Christian community supported by Crossnore School & Children’s Home, Wake Forest University School of Divinity, the Yadkin Valley District of the United Methodist Church, New Story Church, Youth in Transition, and The Missional Wisdom Foundation. The Foundry House community members live in a residence together and engage in service at the Crossnore farm and/or in the broader Winston-Salem community. The Foundry House is open to single and married students and young adults (ages 21-30), depending upon availability of housing. At full capacity, the community will have no more than 8-10 individuals. Applications can be submitted at any time and will be considered on a rolling basis if there is availability in the community. -Personal Essay (no more than 750 words)
-Signed Terms of Agreement for The Foundry House

-Agreement to a background check

Application instructions:
Complete the application online in its entirety (including uploading documents). You will receive an email confirming we have received your application. Staff will contact you within two weeks about your application, letting you know if we would like to interview you. Upon acceptance you will be contacted to sign a formal community living agreement and community living covenant.

Community Living Agreement Terms:
-Security Deposit: $300 refundable* (only by fulfillment of the community living agreement) due at signing
-Contributing $400 to the Contribution Fund ("rent") is required at the 1st of every month. The rental rate will be determined and delivered to resident before or at time of acceptance to the community.
-Pantry and refrigerator space, high-Speed Wifi internet, utilities, washer and dryer, bed (twin - can bring another bed if
desired), dresser/closet space, and desk, shared bathroom suite.

Discernment Process
Interview: At least one in-person interview is required; more may be requested before a final decision is made.
Discernment. After the interview and your visit, The Foundry House staff will prayerfully consider a final decision. You will hear a response within two weeks after your final interview (pending background check, etc.). If it is discerned that you are a good fit for The Foundry House, we will offer you a place in the residence. You have the freedom to accept or decline the offer. If you accept the offer, then staff will coordinate a move in date.

The Foundry House offers young adults from varying backgrounds and life experiences the opportunity to create a residential community that exemplifies the love of Jesus Christ; is held together through intentional practices of prayer, presence, gifts, service, and witness.
