Thank you for your interest in supporting kids and families in your community by joining the EDMO Board of Directors or our Advisory / Ambassador Board. Our board members are integral to achieving our mission of creating equitable access to high-quality out-of-school time programs that cultivate curious, courageous and kind humans. We are looking for individuals willing to invest their skills, personal networks, professional networks, passion and resources for at least a 3-year tenure to our governing board.
Board of Directors (formal / regular meetings): As part of EDMO’s legal governing body, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the organization fulfills its mission with integrity and maintains strong, long-term financial health. Board members meet quarterly and serve on monthly subcommittees related to their specialty or interests (e.g. fundraising, board development, finance, etc.). Governing Board members meet quarterly for 2 - 2.5 hours. Three meetings per year are virtual and one meeting (in June/July) is in-person at a camp location in the San Francisco Bay Area or nearby. Board members are required to attend at least 75% of meetings per year. Governing board members also serve on sub-committees that require approximately 1-2 hours per month of time.
Advisory/Ambassador Board (informal/no regular meetings): Offer pro bono advice to EDMO’s leadership team and help guide our strategic direction without the commitment of regular meetings, based on your field of expertise (e.g. employment law, finance, public policy, marketing, etc.).
