This elected volunteer member position is a part of, and reports to, the Board of Directors. The Member at Large serves as liaison between the general membership and the SAWG Board of Directors. The position brings the voice of the membership to the Board by gathering information through group discussions or online inquiries which may include surveys. The position requires 3-4 hours/month.
The position requires the following skills:
- Good communication and listening skills. Able to communicate verbally and electronically and work with a variety of different people.
- Demonstrate good interpersonal relationship skills.
- Able to recognize, support and protect the integrity of every member and value each member's contribution to the organization.
- Demonstrate a general knowledge or understanding of the organization and its history.
This position requires the following responsibilities:- Attending general meetings, show receptions to listen to what members are saying.
- Visit the gallery regularly and visit with the docents.
- Prepare and conduct online inquiries/surveys with the membership as needed.
- Assist with other activities and events not formally designated to other board members. Accept other tasks by the Board as able.
