SAGA Robotics Club (1st - 4th Grade; in English)
A robotics club is a fun way to meet and work with other kids at school while creating different elements that go into making a robot. This class will be hosted by Kim Kotovic, parent and STEM project facilitator at SAGA. We will use the LEGO WeDo robotic to solve real-world problems through creative engineering. The WeDo combines LEGO bricks and drag and drop programming for a discovery-based approach in creating, programming and testing student solutions. Teamwork is an important part of this program and students will be working on projects in teams of 2. Students will leave having learned about computational thinking and engineering principles and have a better idea of how robots are used in the world. This class will be conducted in English. The class will run for 9 classes (no class Mid-Winter Break).

Blockfloete / Recorder Classes
The Blockflöte / Recorder program at SAGA offers music instruction for all ages and levels of expertise. Very young beginners are being led into the world of music by the music cat. We will learn the foundation of recorder playing as well as experience music with our entire bodies, listen, sing, dance, and make music together on various percussion instruments. Rhythmic exercises, games and listening units taken from the Orff inspired program „Music and Dance“ by Rudolf Nykrin will enrich the experience. The more advanced classes expand on their knowledge of music reading and performing, learn how to co-operate in an ensemble and eventually delve into more challenging musical literature.

Beginner's classes are currently full, but there is a waitlist. Spots may open up after the first class. Please await confirmation of a spot from Sabine Endrigkeit before paying for the class.

The recorder classes run for 20 weeks from January 7, 2019 - June 10, 2019 (No class MLK Day**, Mid-Winter Break, Spring Break, April 15th, and Memorial Day**). Individual lessons are available on first come, first serve basis for older beginners. Email sendrigkeit@aol.com to discuss options. Each child should bring his/her own Soprano recorder. Please choose one of these: Yamaha YRS 302B soprano recorder (approx $18) OR Yamaha YRS 402B "ECODEAR" soprano recorder (approx. $22). Cost of the program: $300
