Tai Chi is a mind-body practice that originated in ancient China and brings together traditional Chinese medicine, philosophy, and martial arts. Often described as “meditation in motion,” the movements are inspired by the flow of nature. When practiced slowly with the breath, Tai Chi helps to cultivate “Qi” or vital, life force energy.
The 8-week virtual class is adapted and organized to give you an introduction to certain core principles of Tai Chi. Together we will explore a series of gentle movements and breathing techniques that will encourage the body to become soft and the mind to become calm. As an integrated exercise system for both mind and body, Tai Chi is effective in reducing stress and releasing mental and physical tension, while at the same time nurturing inner strength and creativity.
