Our goal is to strengthen the Community Health Worker (CHW) workforce and improve the effectiveness and retention of CHWs in MassHealth Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) and Community Partners (CPs), by expanding access to core competency training for CHWs.
IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE for this specific CHW training, one must be a CHW who is currently employed at an organization that is part of a MassHealth ACO or a CP of an ACO.
CHW is an “umbrella term” for a number of job titles including: Health Educator, Patient Resource Coordinator, Enrollment Worker, Family Advocate, Doula, Family Support Worker, Health Advocate, Outreach Worker/Educator, Patient Navigator, Peer Advocate, Peer Leader, and Promotor(a) de Salud.
TRAINING COMMITMENT & SCHEDULE: Training includes 80 hours of guided AND self-guided education, and will be conducted virtually. This means you will be able to access from either your home or workplace without having to go to any outside locations!
-- Course takes place over 9 weeks, from July 7, 2020 to September 3, 2020
-- Self-guided and guided live virtual training (Averaging 8.5 hours of work a week)
-- Guided in-person virtual training on Tuesdays & Thursday, 9 am to 12 pm
-- Trainees need permission from their supervisors to attend training during work hours
-- Certificates of completion are only given to those who complete all 80 hours of training
