Application Deadline: 15 March 2019, 17h00 Central European Time.
Awards available:Two scholarships to the value of US$ 1000 each.The awards must be used towards travel, registration, and accommodation expenses that are directly related to attending the meeting.
Eligibility Requirements:1. Applicants must have submitted an abstract to the Pain Science in Motion meeting before applying for a PMM SIG scholarship.2. Applicants may not have received a scholarship from the PMM SIG in the last 3 years (2015-2018).3. Applicants may apply for only one scholarship.4. Applicants must be a member of the Pain, Mind and Movement SIG and a registered PhD candidate (must provide evidence) at the time of application.5. Applicants should be spending most of their work time in research (must provide evidence), and the research topic should relate to pain, the mind, and movement.
Successful applicants will be required to:1. Present at the Pain Science in Motion meeting for 2019 (conditional upon the meeting’s scientific committee accepting the application to present);2. Contribute to the SIG newsletter after the conference by writing a 750-word summary (and/or discussion) of the work you have presented at the conference;
Applications should include the following: (All applications must be submitted in English)1. A completed application form (see below).2. A motivation (max 600 words) stating why the applicant should receive the scholarship. The applicant must state clearly how he/she plans to contribute to spreading the knowledge on pain, mind and movement gained through attending the meeting in his/her community in the 6 months following the Pain Science in Motion meeting. The motivation should be compatible with the PMM SIG mission statement.3. The candidate’s curriculum vitae (a maximum of 2 pages).4. Evidence of abstract submission, and a copy of the full abstract submitted.5. A list of published research papers and/or involvement in teaching or clinical work in the field of pain, mind and movement.
The judgment process will be performed by the members of the SIG Board and will consider the following criteria:
1. Quality of the abstract. 2. Personal information (student level, publications, etc.)3. Letter of motivation (quality of writing and enthusiam)
