The South Central Chapter of the WOCN is dedicated to furthering the professional role, growth, and development of the WOC nurse by assisting nurses in obtaining advanced practice nursing degrees. This scholarship offers financial assistance to a nurse in the pursuit of a Masters or Doctoral degree or NP/CNS certificate in the amount of $1,000. Applicants must be a current active member with the SCC WOCN accepted to an advance practice program with the intent to obtain an advance practice certification upon completion of the program.

CRITERIA:

1. Applicant must be a member of the WOCN and have designated the SCC as the region of choice.

2. Applicant has not received scholarship awards from the SCC WOCN within the last 3 years.

3. Applicant must be employed within the South Central region.

4. Applicant must provide proof of enrollment in an accredited university for a graduate program.

5. Applicant must complete a 200-word essay outlining the degree they are seeking, why they are seeking it, and what they will do with it to further WOC nursing practice.

6. Applicant must send a resume or CV and 3 letters of recommendation from professional colleagues who have known applicants for a minimum of 1 year.
