Welcome to the Harvard Alumni in Healthcare (HAIH) All-In Mentorship (AIM) Program. We are delighted that you are interested in joining our team as a mentor for a Harvard pre-medical student.
Please review our mission and expectations below before committing to be a mentor.
Mission:
The AIM Program connects Harvard alumni in healthcare with Harvard College students who are interested in pursuing a career in medicine. "All-In" recognizes our commitment to especially supporting students from first-generation, low-income or underrepresented minority backgrounds, those without family members in medicine, and non-science concentrators, as they embark on their pre-medical careers. Learn more about our mission here: https://harvardalumnihealthcare.com/about-aim.
Expectations:
* Mentor commits at least 1 year to the program, but the goal is to build a longitudinal relationship for the duration of the time that the mentee is in college.
* Mentor meets with mentee for at least 1 hour every 3 months, either virtually or in-person.
* Mentor helps the mentee identify and work toward their goals.
* Mentor provides feedback on the mentee's progress and goals.
* Mentor maintains confidentiality of the mentor-mentee relationship.
We will match mentors and mentees on a rolling quarterly (September, December, March, June) basis and facilitate an introduction via email. At your first meeting, you will sign a mentorship agreement form.
Please reach out to us with any questions or concerns to mafreen@college.harvard.edu.
Thank you again for your interest, and we look forward to connecting you with a mentee soon!
Best,
Mahbuba Afreen and Janani Raveendran, MD, MEd
