John Carroll Weekend Nashville (March 31-April 3, 2022) // Programming Proposals
Thank you for your interest in John Carroll Weekend 2022 programming. Through this one-of-a-kind weekend of social, cultural, and intellectual engagement, Hoyas from around the globe will have the opportunity to connect and celebrate while learning about Nashville's culture and history, experiencing its unique sights, sounds, and tastes.

JCW Nashville has the opportunity to reflect the a storied history and culture this year as we develop social and intellectual programming, cultural experiences, and signature events that reflect Nashville's vibrant spirit. Toward this end, we hope to foster collaboration between the alumni volunteer committee and University partners to build out a JCW schedule that highlights themes such as:

* Music, Art, & Culture
*American History & Literature
* Innovation & Entrepreneurship
*Healthcare
*Technology
* Environmental Challenges & Sustainability
* Politics
* Jesuit/Catholic Identity

We invite you to submit your programming proposal to the John Carroll Weekend Planning Team, which includes an alumni volunteer committee made up of Nashvillian Hoyas and alumni from throughout the region. Once the proposals have been submitted, Kelly Young will reach out to you directly to discuss which have been selected to move forward for programming.

Your programming submission does not need to be a fully hashed-out proposal. The goal is to provide a general idea of what you hope to plan so that our JCW planning team can field any overlapping programs or topics, identify opportunities for collaboration, and/or trouble-shoot programs that may just not work for JCW Nashville (though may for a future JCW!).

General guidelines to consider when thinking about programming:
* Consider the enumerated themes above and the JCW location to be key drivers in determining program relevance to the market and audience.
* If considering an intellectual program, an interdisciplinary lens through which to view the topic is important. For example, bringing together key faculty and alumni from various schools and institutes to discuss a particular topic from various angles. Please also consider fresh programming formats instead of traditional panels (i.e. fireside chats, interactive dialogues/workshops, multimedia, etc.).
* JCW is typically a weekend to showcase timely and important University priorities, pressing priorities, and issues of the day.
* Intellectual programs will take place in the morning and afternoon, and unit receptions will take place Friday afternoon (typically from 4:30 p.m.-6 p.m.).
* Once proposals are selected, you will be contacted about possible time slots in the schedule. Due to hotel space, budgetary constraints, and programming priorities, programs will need to be scheduled within the given framework.
*For any other questions, please refer to the online guide shared at the JCW Unit Meeting held in July or contact Kelly Young (kelly.young@georgetown.edu).

ALL programming proposals must be submitted by AUGUST 20, 2021. Proposals submitted after August 20, 2021 will most likely not be included in the programming for JCW. You will be notified by September 10 if your program is selected and details will need to be confirmed (event setup, title, and description for the website) by October 8, 2021. A more detailed outline of programming milestones, along with detail submission forms, will be provided once the program is approved.
