Request a Nitrate Watch kit with Iowa CCI
Note: Due to increased demand, your test kit may take greater than 2 weeks to arrive to you. We are fulfilling requests as quickly as possible!

For the 2026 nitrate testing season, Iowa CCI is looking for 25-30 people to regularly test their tap and a strategic body of water in their area of the state from now through the end of October.

The goal is to build a robust database of water quality information that we can release as a report this fall and to build a community of practice among CCI testers to learn and develop our skills together.

As a Nitrate Watcher, I pledge to:
  • Test my tap and a strategic body of water (we can help you figure out what that is)
  • Use ALL 25 test strips in my FREE Nitrate Watch kit to test nitrate levels in tap and a local waterway
  • Add my findings to CCI's Hub on the Clean Water Hub national database
  • Be a part of CCI's Community of Practice
  • Share my knowledge about nitrates and water pollution with family, friends, and neighbors
