The absolute final due date for our state legislature to take meaningful climate and environmental justice action this session is July 21. The legislature has yet to propose legislation that will get us on track with what our EJ partners and scientists have repeatedly asked for. We need your help to wake them up!
Join us for a rally & direct action:
Tuesday, June 21st from 4:00-6:00 pm
@The Massachusetts State House
Details about July 11 to come
June 21:
This creative, fun, intergenerational action will revolve around the theme "Wake Up". Pots, pans, alarm clocks, and pajamas may be involved. There may also be an early afternoon lit drop in the State House and a social afterwards. Stay tuned for updates when the organizers from Mass Power Forward (MPF), Massachusetts Youth Climate Coalition (MYCC) and our partners finalize plan. Together, we can make an impact so bring friends and family!
What we’re asking for:
June 21st marks the point where there are only 30 days left to pass a veto-proof bill that includes key elements from all of MPF’s priorities:
1. First, we are supporting the Environmental Justice Table’s priorities. We believe that all people have the right to live in a pollution-free and hazard-free environment, so we will be working to reform the Energy Facility Siting Board and Improve Air Quality for pollution hot spot communities.
2. Second, we are working for housing justice. Both with Homes for All Mass and we are supporting the MA Renews Alliance work to rapidly retrofit homes to be affordable, efficient, electric and climate healing- with priority to environmental justice neighborhoods.
3. Third, we will continue to get Massachusetts emissions targets and renewable energy goals in line with the climate science, by continuing to support bills like the 100% Clean Act. Together, we can set goals to lead in all sectors of our economy for the health of our planet.

MYCC is a coalition of over 30 youth-led organizations across the state with 10 adult organizational supporters, many of whom are members of MPF. Our priorities are very aligned, so we are coming together to support MPF’s priorities.
