L’daber: How to Talk about Israel
Empower your community to confidently speak out about Israel.
Many Jews and allies feel overwhelmed or unsure how to best respond in conversations about Israel. We all want to help combat the harmful misinformation, but often feel unprepared to speak up in the most articulate and impactful way. Meanwhile, dangerous rhetoric spreads unchallenged, right before our eyes.
After visiting hundreds of communities nationwide facing this issue, Faces of October Seventh is launching a 4-session course for adults of all backgrounds. The goal is to guide Jews and allies to find their voice speaking up against widespread misconceptions and turning conversations into opportunities to build understanding.
Course Highlights:
-Context to both Israeli and Palestinian narratives
-Tools to unpack inaccurate buzzwords and misleading language with depth and clarity
-Practical mentorship in developing your authentic voice: not reciting talking points, but building personal connection
Why L’daber?
It’s created and taught by the co-founders of Faces of October Seventh. Dar and Shoshana are building a course:
Grounded in real conversations: Since 10/7/23, we’ve worked directly with over 500 communities across North America—engaging with nearly every challenge, question, and nuance that arises when talking about Israel today.
Backed by on-the-ground experience: We led political education trips through Israel and the West Bank for diverse student leaders, facilitating in-depth conversations with politicians and advocates across the spectrum, and mentoring them to lead nuanced, courageous, high-stakes conversations back on campus.
Enriched by our network: We’re drawing on our strong connections with fellow expert Israel educators to integrate insights from across the Israel education space, combining a rich pool of the strongest approaches.
