This workshop offers a deep dive into the iterative process of polishing academic application materials. Beyond proofreading, participants will engage in a strategic analysis of job descriptions to decode the specific needs and institutional values of hiring committees. By mastering the art of "mining" a job advertisement for key indicators, attendees will learn how to align their research, teaching, and service narratives with the requirements of their target positions. Participants will conclude the session with actionable revision techniques to transform CVs, cover letters, and research statements into highly-tailored, competitive dossiers.
Participants are invited to bring one job posting in their field to the workshop to practice tailoring and targeting materials to fit the advertisement.
