Honk! Sign-up Form
PLEASE READ ALL THE INFORMATION BELOW BEFORE COMPLETING THE FORM
Only Calvin Christian students in the 4th-8th grade in the 2019-2020 school year are invited to audition for this production.
Producing musical theater is an incredibly labor-intensive project. Many people will be involved and commit significant amounts of time. Please carefully evaluate the projected rehearsal schedule and consider whether the student’s/family’s schedule will allow them to commit to this show.
We ask that students audition ONLY if they are willing to commit via contract to the rehearsal schedule. This MAY likely mean having to make adjustments in other commitments, especially during the two key production weeks leading up to the show (see below).
NOTE: Students can indeed play sports and be in the play, but some adjustments will likely have to be made in the commitment to both programs.
*NOTE*: Although the artistic team will do their best to cast everyone who auditions for the show, it may not be possible simply due to numbers. Roles will be assigned by the artistic team to the student who is the best fit.

What song will your child be singing for auditions? NOTE: This can be any song your child is comfortable with, selection should be 30-60 seconds long, the track should be free of background vocals (check Itunes), track can be submitted to Caitlin Davey digitally or brought to auditions on a smart device with an aux output.
Please select which parts your child would like to be considered for:
Ducklings- Beaky, Fluff, Billy, Downy are Ugly's siblings - cute little kid types. They are among the "popular" ones in the duck yard who enjoy making Ugly feel left out.
Ugly- The ugly ducking and the main character of HONK! JR. Innocent, easily confused and very impressionable,
Ida- Ugly's mom. Ida is extremely protective of her son and committed to his safety. She is sweet but feisty,
Drake- Ida's husband. Drake is a sarcastic character. He is the stereotypical sitcom father
Maureen- A moorhen and Ida's best friend. (Originally found on the moors, a moorhen is a hen that lives near the water.) Maureen genuinely loves Ida, but she can't resist a bit of good gossip
The Cat- The sly, cunning villain of the show.
Greylag- A somewhat pompous goose and washed-up British military type,
Dot- A motherly type, she is genuinely concerned with helping Ugly find his mother.
The Bullfrog- A laidback, self confident frog with whom Ugly comes into contact in the second half of the show
Penny- The young, beautiful swan that Ugly saves from a tangled fishing net.
