Generation Dread: Finding Purpose in an Age of Climate Crisis
Wednesday, May 18, 4:30-6pm, Shriram Tea Room, Stanford University (443 Via Ortega, Stanford, CA).

Climate and environment-related fears and anxieties are on the rise everywhere. As with any type of stress, eco-anxiety can lead to burnout, avoidance, or a disturbance of daily functioning. There is a lot at stake in terms of how these difficult feelings are tended to and coped with. Stanford / LSHTM Planetary Health Postdoctoral Fellow Dr. Britt Wray, based at the Stanford Center for Innovation in Global Health (CIGH), is publishing a new book: Generation Dread: Finding Purpose in an Age of Climate Crisis (Knopf). Join us for a conversation between Dr. Wray and Stanford CIGH Director Dr. Michele Barry on how climate change impacts mental health in youth, frontline communities, climate professionals and concerned people everywhere – and what can be done to build resilience. This event is co-hosted by Stanford's Center for Innovation in Global Health and Woods Institute for the Environment.
