“Catching the Dreams of Tomorrow, Preparing Young Women for the 21st Century” The Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy Is designed to provide opportunities to  Middle school girls  between the ages of 11 - 14,  whom might otherwise be excluded due to lack of financial resources, gender, age, and parental resources.  

The Oakland East Bay Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated has designed this years program to:
           • Expose young ladies to STEM activities and mentorship opportunities .
           • Introduce the importance of community service.
           • Assist the young ladies in recognizing that dreams and aspirations do come true by avoiding the perils of          
             academic failure, low self-esteem, peer pressure, and negative influences.
           • Create a sisterly relationship among the Academy participants.
