If you have questions or concerns about fines or fees on your
library account for material you borrowed from The Workshop, you have come to the right place.
What is an overdue fine?
- Overdue fines are $10/day and in place to encourage timely returns so that all students may have equal access to the limited equipment supply.
- Borrowers receive via VCU email a loan receipt, a courtesy reminder, a due today notice and up to five overdue notices. These notices explain the fine rate and encourage reaching out to The Workshop via phone or email if there are concerns.
What is a lost or damaged fee?
- When borrowed material reaches 13 days past due it is considered lost, a replacement fee bill is sent and a financial hold is placed on the borrower's university account.
- When lost material is returned, the replacement fee disappears but the overdue fines remain.
- When material is returned damaged or missing parts, a replacement fee for the market value of the item or part is applied to the borrower's account.
The following issues are not considered a valid basis for waiving a fine or fee.
What can I do about my fine or fee?
- You may use the convenient online payment system
