In Her Shoes - A 21st Century Woman's Story
Feel free to answer as many or as few of the questions as you'd like. Each question is designed to hit upon a specific aspect of womanhood in the 21st century.

I am so very excited you're here

Why is this project so important?
For the longest time, the most you and I could hope to know about were the stories and the experiences of others who lived and worked by us. Sure, television, magazines and movies give us a glimpse of women far and wide, but the narrator is always someone else, with their own agenda and filters.

Then came social media. Initially, it held the promise of creating a more diverse and open world, but algorithms being what they are, our feeds only show us what we know to look for, or what we already are familiar with.

So, what is it like to be a 90-year-old woman in Angola, a transgirl in Germany, or an unemployed factory worked in the midwestern states of America? What does a day look like in the life of Māori business owner, or a Chechen mother of three?

I don't know, but I want to, and there are men and women out there who want and need to know this too

What This Is And What It's Not
I've been asked what I'm doing with these stories. The simple answer is sharing them.

What it is:
This will be an open source library of women's stories.
If it goes the way I want to, eventually these stories will be shared on their own website, and will be searchable using multiple relevant categories. Until then I will share them on my blog and maybe one day on a podcast.
If this goes the way I hope it will, eventually the stories will be retold in an audio and/or video format, since that's the way most people prefer to get information nowadays
These are your stories, so you have the right to take them down, edit, and change them at your will.

What this is not
This is not a for profit project. I'm not doing this to make money, there is no financial end goal here.
This is not a marketing database.
It is not an excuse to gather emails for a mailing list.

How To Share Your Story
To help you share your experience, I've create a list of questions to answer. Scroll to the next section to access them.

I will ask you to write in the first person, and be as honest as possible with your account.

If you don't feel comfortable sharing your name, don't. Do however, tell me about your background.

If writing is not your thing, feel free to record audio or video. I'd be glad to transcribe it for you.

If english is not your preferred language, write in your native tongue. I'll find translators who can share your story in both languages.

If this project goes as I hope it does, one day we'll have written audio and video to share and will have these stories in multiple languages so that anyone can learn from them.
