XCP Shadow Day Request Form
The Shadow Program is part of the admissions process but is not mandatory. It provides an opportunity for an 8th grade student to visit the Xavier College Preparatory campus for a full day, attending classes with an XCP Student Ambassador. Shadowing is available Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The day begins promptly at 7:30 a.m. in the Baldwin Library, where the parent/guardian and child will meet with the assigned Student Ambassador. The Student Ambassador and their 8th grade shadow will spend the entire day together, following the Student Ambassador’s schedule. The day concludes promptly at 2:35 p.m. in the Baldwin Library where her parent/guardian will pick up the Shadow.
If the Shadow wears a uniform at the school she is currently attending, it is easiest if she wears it to Xavier for her visit, as this is a good conversation starter. If she does not wear a uniform, then appropriate dress for 8th Graders is required in keeping with the XCP dress code: if a non-uniform skirt is worn, it may be no shorter than the top of the knee; no shorts; jeans are allowable but they may not have any rips, holes, or frayed edges; no tank tops; no spaghetti straps; and no flip-flops.
We make every effort to match your daughter with a Xavier Student Ambassador according to her interests. In this way, your daughter can learn more about the clubs/arts/sports/volunteer work that she may wish to become involved in here at Xavier!
