The complexities and changes happening in today’s world raises various challenges and demands on our education system. In this rapid changing and highly demanding environment, it is necessary to increase the awareness and improve the preparedness of all our stake holders to ensure the vibrant functioning of the institution. In this context, the school is planning to conduct a series of seminars & workshops that addresses the multitude of issues we face.
We have selected “Parenting” as the first issue to be tackled in this series. Parenting has become a big challenge in modern times especially with the invention of faster technology. The children around are smart and tech savvy. They think faster and react faster too. So there is a real challenge that lies in front of all; the challenge to manage children and guide them properly. The teachers in the school are also parents during the school hours and they too like the parents at home face lot of challenges in managing the students.
With a view to discuss and explore the world of parenting, the school intends to conduct a joint seminar of parents and teachers in the coming days. The title of the seminar is “PARENTING – Challenges for Teachers and Parents”. This will be a forum for Parent Teacher Interaction, presentations and discussions. We will have an expert panel that will also be part of the seminar. The seminar will be conducted in different languages; on different dates as per the response received. We will appreciate the maximum participation of parents and teachers in this joint session. There will be presentations by domain experts, parents as well as teachers.
Parents who are interested in presentations and/or participation can register in the Indian School website or fill in the attached form and submit through the respective class teachers of their ward. The parents can individually or jointly make a presentation. Teachers who are interested in giving presentations can register their names in the forms available with the respective Head Teachers.
Each presentation shall be not more than 15 minutes followed by a question answer round. The presentations can be PowerPoint or subject paper presentation which has to be submitted for prior approval of the expert panel. Innovative ideas for the seminar/workshops are welcome. The ideas, views and experiences of the participants will be taken into account for future policy decisions on educational reforms in the school.
The date and venue of the seminar will be informed soon by another circular once the registrations are confirmed. Let us together make a difference to create an improved space for our children to explore and express themselves better.
