The Wilder School Alumni Ambassador Program is for eight alumni volunteers who wish to represent the VCU Wilder School (WS) by participating in special events and other duties. Volunteers will participate in three ways:
SPEAK: Lead group conversations with students, recruit prospective students and participate in larger speaking engagements and panel discussions. Support the student-to-graduate pipeline by developing career insight and networks. Build community and connection among students – past and present.
LEAD: Provide current and potential students with an understanding of Wilder School programs through mentorship and career perspectives through networking events and mentorship.
ENGAGE: Promote the Wilder School and its various signature events by activating personal networks, providing quotes for articles and social media and sharing posts from your platforms. We’ll ask you share the latest news and information like blog posts, events, contests, and more using social networks like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. You will receive an e-newsletter when we have exciting content to share. Elevate alumni voices and share their accomplishments.
The term of appointment extends for one academic year. The assignment will include two semesters. The first semester will be in the fall, and the second semester will be in the spring (August through May). Alumni will have the opportunity to extend beyond the initial one academic year appointment.
Events may include: Recruitment Campus Tours, the Employer Showcase, New Student Orientation, Welcome Week, Open House, Preview Day and other annual Wilder School events. The Wilder School Development team will provide a list of special events for the academic year to each Ambassador via email.
