APPLICATION FOR SCHOLARSHIP GRANT
This application is for active partners of First Christian Church who are, or will be, pursuing a college undergraduate degree. An active partner, as defined by this committee, is someone who has engaged in active participation in the Student Ministry program and/or has demonstrated service in a First Christian Church ministry for at least one year.
Depending on the student’s circumstances, a certain amount of financial assistance is available to help with college tuition and related expenses. Financial assistance is available through the Christian Education Fund (CEF) and the Creighton Fund. The CEF is for students who will attend a Christian college or university that is a member of the same Christian Brotherhood that our church is part of (such as Cincinnati Christian University, Kentucky Christian University, and Milligan University). The Creighton Fund is available for students who choose to attend a Christian Brotherhood or a non-Brotherhood college or university.
The Christian Education Foundation committee determines the amount of financial assistance that will be made available to each applicant. The amount of assistance depends on the college or university to be attended and/or the degree to be pursued. (For instance, a church-related degree is given more financial assistance.) In order to continue receiving financial assistance, the student must submit a letter to the Christian Education Foundation committee summarizing his or her academic status at the end of each semester.
