2026-2027 Westgate PTA Volunteer Interest!
We have many open committee chairs and/or volunteers needed to make our 2026-2027 Westgate PTA events a success! Please review below and select where you may be interested. There is an option at the bottom to select if you desire to help/volunteer but aren't quite sure what will be a good fit!

Directory Spot & Membership Chair - Manage our membership records after families join the PTA and upload family contact information into Directory Spot. This is the perfect individual role for someone who loves getting lost in a spreadsheet and organizing data! It is behind-the-scenes. Most of the time commitment is in August-September getting everything set up for the year! Note, this role is not responsible for recruiting PTA members (PTA Exec team takes care of that). Ideally looking for 1 individual to serve in this role.
Westgate PTA Social Media Chair - Manage Westgate's social media accounts with specific emphasis on Instagram; create content, share stories and images of Westgate PTA events. This role is time intensive yet very creative and fun! Ideally looking for 1 volunteer to serve in this role.
Reflections Chair - Support Westgate students participating in the IL PTA Reflections artist program! Recruit students to complete this year's reflections themed art project (art, photography, dance, music, etc.!), submit entries to IL PTA and display them at various Westgate events! Ideally looking for 1 individual to serve in this role.
2nd Grade Magic Show - Lead the magic show evening event for all 2nd graders! Book the magic show vendor and coordinate event details, volunteers and supplies needed for the event. This event is typically in late fall. Ideally looking for 2-3 volunteers  (parents of 2026-2027 2nd graders!) to lead this event.
5th Grade Celebration - Lead the development and oversight of the last day of school celebration for 5th graders! Major milestones typically include coordinating 5th grade shirts, celebration/themed bulletin boards, slideshow and planning the last day of school itinerary and events (games, food, gifts, etc.!) Most of the work transpires in late spring! Ideally looking for 5-6 volunteers (parents of 2026-2027 5th graders!) to lead this event.
Parents Night Out Fundraiser - Join some veteran volunteers to help plan our annual fundraiser! In year's past, this is a fun night out for parents at an establishment in Arlington Heights with a focus on fundraising for Westgate PTA! This event usually occurs in late January. Ideally looking for 1-2 volunteers to join our committee chairs and lead this event.
Fall Fest - Help plan our fall back-to-school party for all Westgate families! Join some veteran volunteers to help plan the event, book vendors, coordinate supplies and volunteers to make the event a success! This is time intensive for only a short amount of time leading up to and executing the big night! This event usually occurs in mid-September. Ideally looking for 3-4 volunteers to lead this event.
Staff Appreciation Back-to-School & Conference Meals - Help veteran volunteers with breakfasts and lunches provided to Westgate staff during the first week of school and during both parent-teacher conferences. Plan and execute donations, volunteers and/or food delivery for the day-of meals! These occur one-time each in August, October and February. Ideally looking for 1 volunteer to join the existing committee members.
