The Board has a monthly evening meeting that lasts about 1.5 hours. In addition, Board members typically contribute time and expertise on a Board committee related to their interest. In total, Board members dedicate around 5-10 hours per month to the organization. 

Board members are expected to be familiar with Family Kitchen's services by volunteering for at least 4 shifts before starting their Board service or within the first 6 months of becoming a Board member. Many Board members continue regularly volunteering during their time on the Board.

Board members are not required to financially contribute to Family Kitchen.
