What you will need.
Plan to plant bitterbrush seedlings by hand. Training, tools and planting equipment is provided.  If you have a favorite planting tool like a small shovel or garden trowel, knee pads/kneeler, bring them along!  Seedling planting involves hiking, packing equipment, digging and bending over/kneeling to plant. Training is provided and crew leaders will be there to help. Seedlings are generally small and need to be planted carefully into a 6 to 8 inch small hole. The seedlings need to be handled gently.

Please remember to dress for early spring weather. You will need to bring layered clothing and boots or sturdy shoes, a hat, and sunscreen. It could be rainy, breezy and cool OR it could be sunny and warm.  Volunteer activities are subject to change due to weather and road conditions.

Come prepared!  You will need to bring a sack lunch and water for the day.  Bring a day pack to hold your food and extra layers.  We will be planting the hills north of Hammer Flat, which means the terrain will not be flat!

There are no restrooms at the planting site.  After we meet at the trailhead, we will backtrack slightly and head in behind a locked gate and drive a two-track over to the planting site.  This road is not bad, but don't bring your lowrider either.

COVID-19 Protocol:  We will not be sharing tools on site.  We ask that you sanitize any equipment you use during the planting with provided sanitizing wipes upon returning to your vehicle.  Please plan to wear a mask at the meeting location and for the start of the project where you will receive instructions.  After that, you are encouraged to spread out and can remove your mask.  Please remain at least 6 feet apart from people that are not in your party.  We will stop registrations at 50 people to follow the Idaho State Covid Recovery plan.
A copy of your responses will be emailed to the address you provided.
