The 2018 Midterm Election: MN-02 and Beyond
The conference will feature interdisciplinary perspectives and analysis of the 2018 midterm elections, including: (1) Undergraduate research panels exploring Minnesota’s Second Congressional District through the lens of an election-day exit poll, (2) Undergraduate research panels exploring political communication in congressional races across the country, (3) Posters highlighting academic civic engagement at St. Olaf, and (4) A keynote address delivered by University of Notre Dame Professor of Political Science Christina Wolbrecht.

In addition to teaching at Notre Dame, Wolbrecht is the director of the Rooney Center for the Study of American Democracy and the C. Robert and Margaret Hanley Family Director of the Notre Dame Washington Program. Wolbrecht specializes in women and politics, political parties, and American political development. She is the author of The Politics of Women’s Rights: Parties, Positions, and Change, which received the 2001 Leon D. Epstein Outstanding Book Award from the American Political Science Association.
