General Description:
The Flying J Ranch “Cookie” position is a once-in-a-lifetime kitchen management employment training opportunity. The Flying J Ranch is a Ruidoso tradition that dates back nearly 50 years. It is a fast-paced and positive environment to work in. “Cookie” will develop skills to oversee the Flying J Ranch kitchen operation, including food preparation and planning, ensuring food safety practices, and food/supply ordering among other responsibilities. Nightly, “Cookie” will prepare a cowboy themed BBQ supper for anywhere between 100 and 500 guests.

Physical requirements: This job does not take place in a stationary setting. Must be able to perform job duties in a standing position and be able to lift or transfer objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
Employment Timeline:
This position may be filled by 1-2 qualified individuals for the 2025 summer season which runs from late May through the beginning of September (Memorial Day - Labor Day). Staff will receive on-site training and supervision to develop and master the roles and responsibilities associated with this position.
