As The Bardo grows in service so, too, will our need for helping hands!

Please know that at this time WE ARE NOT OPEN TO DYING GUESTS, but we are collecting volunteer interest for when we are able to 'open the doors'.

Below are a few ways in which we are looking for volunteer assistance. By filling out this questionnaire, you are NOT committing to these tasks. At this time we are looking to understand the help available now and how to fill in gaps as we move forward.

Are you interested in providing non-medical, bedside care for someone who is dying? *

If YES to the above (you are interested in providing non-medical, bedside care for someone who is dying) please describe your desired shares.

e.g. music, reverent silence and non-anxious presence, reading aloud, tending to a fire in honor of the dying, tidying the room, etc.

Please know the skills brought to this experience can be an open dialogue with The Bardo staff as well as the dying person and their family/friends. In other words, we can decide as a team what the best fit is in each case.

If YES to the above, are you willing/able to be at The Bardo outside typical business hours such as ~5am-8am and ~8pm-midnight?

In what ways are you interested in volunteering for The Cocoon (The Bardo's grief membership which meets Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays)?

Once/week cooking fresh meals

Once/week cooking meals for the freezer which can be used at a later date during the Cocoon days

Assisting with setup or cleanup following Cocoon activities

Trail walks with Cocoon members

I am NOT interested in volunteering for the Cocoon

In what ways are you interested in volunteering for special events with The Bardo? e.g. an off-site class; a small party hosted by a donor, an on-site event such as our open house, groups meeting at the neighboring land Mend, etc.

I can attend a special event as an assisting set of hands for set up or tear down

I would only want to assist with a special event hosted at The Bardo

I am NOT interested in special events

In what ways are you interested in volunteering for land maintenance or house keeping?

Special property projects (such as establishing a small-scale building like the sauna, dome, or a firepit)

Special projects of trail maintenance or driveway upkeep

Recurring projects such as garden upkeep and labyrinth cleaning

Working with animals on the Mend property (sheep and horses, plus the barn maintenance that go with each set of animals)

I am NOT interested in land maintenance or house keeping

If you know your general availability for volunteering you are invited to share that here. As mentioned above, a schedule with more exact needed-times will be shared with volunteers by the end of November.
