We are currently looking for a part-time contractor to assist us in a variety of technical work, with the express intent of future part-time or full-time employment. Responsibilities will include comprehensive WordPress web development and a wide range of additional tasks. These include, but are not limited to:
-Creating and customizing WordPress child themes
-Slicing Fireworks/Photoshop files and creating CSS styling for mobile-responsive WordPress themes
-Browser testing and debugging for FF/SAFARI/CHROME/IE7+/iOS/Android (using Browserstack or equivalent)
-Managing, updating and rolling back WordPress plugins
-Migrating WordPress installations and interfacing with hosting services
-Optimizing WordPress performance without CDN or W3 Total Cache plugins
-Writing shortcodes, appending WordPress core & plugins using PHP
Attention to detail, rigorous testing practices and thorough code documentation are a must. Applicants should have the ability to use a broad range of digital tools and services, with the willingness to learn and master even more.
Since this position is intended towards future employment with our organization, we are looking for self-motivated individuals that will bring creativity, consistency and dedication to their work. Applicants will be expected to bring their own experience and energy to enrich our team, as well as effectively follow instructions and complete tasks assigned to them.
Compensation for this position will be a rate of $35/hr. The position will involve an average of 10 - 15 hours of work per week. Applicants must have consistent weekday availability and the ability to complete projects within an appropriate timeframe (including occasional emergency work). Most work may be completed remotely, but good communication and regular meetings (either via video chat or in person at our office in East Denver) will be essential.
