INMS - Towards the Establishment of an International Nitrogen Management System
Nitrogen (N) represents a dual challenge for agriculture. On one side N is the main plant nutrient but it also represents a source of extensive losses to which the environment is vulnerable including effects on climate change. Considerable research efforts have been made over the years to understand and develop effective technologies and practices that can reduce N different losses, leading to a wide range of viable options to mitigate those losses. However, the adoption of these mitigation and adaptation measures, practices and technologies are not as effectively implemented as they should be. This activity is an important tool to design or restructure policies to stimulate behaviour towards best practices addoption.
