On Saturday May 19, 2018 the Lowndes County People's Tribunal, the Webb Miller Community Church, and the Mary Turner Project will be having a commemoration ceremony and short program to remember the 100 year anniversary of the lynching of Mary Turner and the other victims that perished during the May 1918 lynching rampage in Lowndes and Brooks Counties. That program will take place beginning at approximately 10:30 a.m. at the Webb Miller Community Church, 300 Blakely St, in Hahira GA. https://goo.gl/maps/bDQSXKdd5Np
It will be a time for collective reflection and sharing. We will also share a meal together before traveling together to the site of the Historical marker at the Little River, located on Highway 122 west of Hahira on the Brooks/Lowndes county line.
Please let us know you plan to attend the event (RSVP) by filling out the form below so we will know how many people want to attend and so we can plan accordingly.
You may also contact us by phone please (229 234-2856) and simply leave a message telling us you will be attending and how many people you will be bringing with you. You may also email that information to email@example.com. Currently we are raising funds to pay for the event. So if you would like to, and are able to, you may make a donation to help cover the cost of the food (an estimated $800 for food and water based on past years). All donations should be made out to The People's Tribunal and simply put "Mary Turner" in the subject line of your check. Those donations should then be sent to the following address.

We look forward to spending this sacred time with you to remember the victims of 1918 and to reflect on where we have yet to go as a community and nation.
