Delegate Wanika Fisher's: 2019 Scholarship Application
Thank you for your interest in Delegate Wanika Fisher’s academic scholarship. Please follow the list of application requirements listed below:

YOU MUST LIVE IN PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY
Priority will be given to District 47B residents but all Prince George’s County residents are welcome to apply. Please go to http://mdelect.net/ to confirm you are a Prince George’s resident and/or a District 47B resident.

COMPLETE THE FAFSA*
To complete the FAFSA form you may go to https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa or obtain one from your high school guidance counselor. The FAFSA should be completed NO LATER THAN MARCH 1, 2019. You do not have to provide us with your completed FAFSA form, we will automatically have access to it once you complete it.

*If you do not have your FAFSA or are unable to complete it because you are a returning or older student please indicate that in the FAFSA section of the application.

PLAN TO ATTEND A MARYLAND COLLEGE, UNIVERSITY OR PRIVATE CAREER SCHOOL
You must currently attend or plan on attending a college, university, or private career school in Maryland. The private career school must have approval from the Maryland Higher Education Commission (http://www.mhec.state.md.us/) to operate and must be accredited by a national accrediting association approved by the United States Department of Education (https://www.ed.gov/).

You may only use this scholarship at an out-of-state school if your major is not offered at a Maryland college, university or private career school. The Office of Financial Aid must recognize your major as “unique.” In order to obtain unique major status, contact the Maryland Higher Education Commission (http://www.mhec.state.md.us/) for the requirements.

PLAN TO ATTEND SCHOOL FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME
Both full- and part-time students are eligible to apply. Full-time undergraduate students must maintain 12 credits or more per semester. Part-time undergraduate students must maintain 6-11 credits per semester. Full-time graduate students must maintain 9 or more credits per semester, while part-time graduate students must maintain 6-8 credits per semester.

The Delegate Scholarship is only for a single academic year. Even if you have received a Delegate Scholarship in the past, you must reapply annually.

Complete the application, upload all required items and follow the prompt for the essays BY THE FINAL DEADLINE OF 11:59 PM ON APRIL 26, 2019.
