A three-month community writing journey from Put It In A Book + Black Pearl Books

Free to attend | Monthly meetups | Published anthology at the end | All backgrounds welcome

Thank you for your interest in participating in Put Your Story In A Book: A Community Writing Program

Below is an application broken up into four parts:

Step 1 — About You: Name, contact info, age range, and neighborhood to understand who's in the room.

Step 2 — Your Writing Life: Experience level, preferred forms (memoir, poetry, oral history, etc.), and prior workshop history — so the facilitator can meet you where you are.

Step 3 — Your Story & Intentions: The heart of it. Share the stories you've been carrying, what brings you to the program.

Step 4 — Publication & Consent: Separate opt-ins for the anthology, photography, and communications, plus a community agreement. You retain full rights to your work.

Applications are due by Monday, 6/8/2026. Selected applicants will be notified by the end of the day, Friday 6/12/2026.
