Franklin Street Market Operating Guidelines
Overview and Mission:
Franklin Street Market is a food market where Pittsburghers can experience what's on the rise within Pgh's food landscape. The market's mission is to support emerging local food brands by providing them with a space to reach community members, test their products, and join a larger growing food community hub in the heart of Manchester- a neighborhood which has been historically underserved, specifically in the context of food. This is a unique market meant to connect the community with the future of the local food and farm scene in Pgh.
Goals:
- Create a market with a low barrier to entry for new and emerging food and farm producers in the Pittsburgh area lo
- Support burgeoning food, farm, and packaged good entrepreneurs by creating an event where they can gain experience in a market environment, test new products, connect and learn from other food producers, and grow their businesses.
- Contribute positively to the community landscape and vibrancy of the Manchester neighborhood
- Further establish and promote Manchester a growing food hub in the city of Pittsburgh
- Plant seeds during our 2024 three market series to create a more consistent and expanded Franklin Street Market next summer.
