Adelphi University Summer 2016 Teaching and Learning Workshops (w/light lunch)
All Summer 2016 workshops will take place in Alumnae Hall, Room 126 (FCPE Classroom). A light lunch will be served at all four of the workshops listed below.

For faculty who teach at Adelphi's dynamic learning hubs (satellite centers) - the FCPE provides workshops on all topics by request for groups of 4 or more faculty members. “Introduction to Teaching in a Blended or Online Format” -- June 16, 10:00am-12:00pm, Co-facilitated by Mitchell Kase & Belle Gironda
This workshop is designed for faculty who have never taught a blended or online course before. Together we'll explore a pedagogical framework for developing a blended or online version of a course that you currently teach or will be teaching. We'll apply a student-centered approach to activity design and evaluate some examples of online modules and activities. All Summer 2016 workshops will take place in Alumnae Hall, Room 126 (FCPE Classroom). A light lunch will be served.
“Intermediate Blended and Online Course Design” -- June 17,  10:00am-12:00pm, Co-facilitated by Belle Gironda & Mitchell Kase
This session is designed for faculty who have already taught a blended or online course at least once. Together we'll review the Backwards Design model and how we can apply it to our courses, explore the best practices for designing effective assignments and assessments  and develop strategies for increasing participation and collaboration. Participants will have an opportunity to workshop their own course materials and receive feedback from the group. All Summer 2016 workshops will take place in Alumnae Hall, Room 126 (FCPE Classroom). A light lunch will be served.
“Blended and Online Course Development Working Session 1 ” -- June 20, 10:00am-12:00pm, Facilitated by the FCPE Instructional Design Team
This studio-based session is designed to meet you wherever you are in the course development process. Come by with your course materials and meet with one of our instructional designers to work on your learning objectives, online activities, assessments, or rubrics. This is also a great opportunity to discuss facilitation strategies for small or large courses and to get your questions answered. All Summer 2016 workshops will take place in Alumnae Hall, Room 126 (FCPE Classroom). A light lunch will be served.
