The Dish Project, CUCCR, and Zero Waste Concordia present... the Zero Waste Challenge 2019! We are encouraging Concordia students, faculty, staff, and greater community members to take on the challenge of going zero waste for 5 days, from March 11th to 15th. This means you can recycle, compost, reuse, and repurpose, but NO LANDFILL WASTE! If you do create any "garbage" during this time, try to hold on to it until the end of the challenge, and reflect on what these items are and how they can be avoided in the future.
If its your first time reducing your waste, and going totally "zero" seems too daunting, feel free to curate your own challenge. For example, you could try and go 5 days without using a disposable coffee cup. We do, however, encourage you to be as ambitious as you can! You'd be surprised by what you can do when you put your mind to it.
For those of you who need a bit more inspiration, we will be offering a "Zero Waste 101" workshop on the afternoon of March 8th. All participants of this workshop will receive their own FREE zero waste kit!
