OFF THE FRAME is practical orientated sound workshop for film and video productions. We will look at a range of different recording techniques, we will learn how to mix and record, how to use a wide variety of microphones usually used and how to mix and arrange recordings to enlarge the space which the image displays. Because sound offers so many possibilities an image is not able to provide. Sound makes an image not to just richer, but also deeper, wider, closer, darker, brighter or more vivid. After the workshop you will be sensitized for sound, you will understand how capture and transport your own sensory perception into the media.

About the instructor: Karsten Krause is a artist, filmmaker and producer, working with film and video since 2004. He studied visual communication at the School of fine Arts Hamburg. He has made several short and a feature length documentary films, which were presented at numerous international film festivals. Furthermore he works as a location sound recordist with experience in short film, features, documentaries and advertising.

OFF THE FRAME là khóa học thực hành về âm thanh cho sản xuất phim và video. Học viên sẽ được tham khảo những kỹ thuật thu âm khác nhau, học cách thu âm và hòa âm, cách sử dụng các loại microphone đa dạng và cách sắp xếp và hòa trộn các âm thanh để tăng tính hiệu quả về không gian cho hình ảnh. Bởi âm thanh mang tới cho chúng ta nhiều khả năng mà hình ảnh không thể. Âm thanh làm cho hình ảnh giàu hơn, sâu hơn, gần gũi hơn, tối hơn, sáng hơn và rực rỡ hơn. Sau khóa học bạn sẽ nhạy cảm hơn với âm thanh và sẽ biết cách nắm bắt và chuyển hóa sự nhạy bén đó vào phim.

Về người hướng dẫn: Karsten Krause là nghệ sĩ, nhà làm phim và nhà sản xuất, làm việc với phim và video từ năm 2004. Anh học về truyền thông thị giác tại trường mỹ thuật Hamburg. Anh đã thực hiện một số bộ phim tài liệu ngắn và dài, được trình chiếu ở nhiều liên hoan phim quốc tế. Hiện tại anh là người thu âm hiện trường cho các phim ngắn, phim dài, phim tài liệu và quảng cáo.
