Missed Lessons
Please give as much notice as possible when canceling a lesson. If you cannot attend the lesson, please to try to give at least 24 hours' notice and we will reschedule the lesson for a time in the next seven days, in person or on Zoom. A student who simply does not attend a lesson will miss the benefit of that lesson and the lesson will still be charged; your tuition reserves you a weekly time slot and benefits within the studio. Make-ups will not be carried into the next payment period (month). Note: there are no make-ups for group classes.

Busy Schedules: if you know in advance that you will have a busy month with work, travel, sports, etc., please request a doubling up on lessons on weeks early in the year, and then cancel lessons later during your busy weeks. If you are planning a long vacation, please book extra lessons before you leave or make them up when you return. Depending on timing, you can add time to your lesson time to make-up missed lessons, i.e., taking 45-minute lessons for two weeks in a row to make up a missed thirty-minute lesson.

Tuition payments should be made by electronic bank transfer to marcenkin@gmail.com (for Marc) and rebecca@rebeccaenkin.com (for Rebecca) or with post-dated cheques to "Marc Enkin Music." There will be extra fees for books, recitals, and other tools like tuners or metronomes; and optional jazz CDs. We will purchase these items with our teacher discounts and bill you accordingly. Please pay for these items in separate e-transfers/cheques. We will provide you with a receipt each December.

2. Discontinuation of Lessons Policy
To discontinue lessons, please provide one month’s advance and send a written email requesting cancellation. Without this, a student is liable for one month’s tuition in full, even if no lessons are provided during that month.

3. COVID-19 Policies: In the event of lockdowns, lessons will continue seamlessly on Zoom or outdoors.
HEPA air cleaners are running in the studios. Keyboards will be wiped down between lessons. Students should bring their own materials (instrument, books, pencils, tuners, picks, etc.) Students must reschedule their lesson to a Zoom lesson in the event that they are feeling unwell (although we may just wait to teach very young students in person later on). We will not teach in-person while sick, and may request that a student change to a Zoom lesson, instead. If lockdowns are enacted by governments, lessons will continue seamlessly on Zoom or spaced apart outdoors.
Do you agree to all three policies above? *
Please confirm that you commit to making daily practise a part of your schedule. We will assign you weekly practise time and will teach you how to effectively practise. *
Please confirm that you have an instrument for playing on at home and that you will try to keep it in good shape by scheduling yearly acoustic piano tunings (William Wright Tuning, william@wrightpianotuning.ca), occasional string replacement for guitars, basses, and ukuleles, ($25), or purchased tuners ($29) or apps for string instruments; and metronomes ($45) or free metronome apps. We can help you find/purchase these materials for you. *
If you are taking lessons online, please confirm that you have a device (computer, tablet, or laptop) that you can use weekly for online lessons, and don't forget to have your device charged and ready for each lesson. *
Jane & Bloor Studio Lessons: Tues/Wed availability. Exact location to be revealed upon commitment to lessons.
Kingsley School Studio, Etobicoke: we will find you a spot during morning, lunch, or afternoon recess, Tues/Wed availability; or after-school.

Required
Jamming with a Coach band classes for adults and older teens! Join a fun, weekly band workshop for all instruments and vocalists, led by multi-instrumentalist and coach Marc Enkin, held in a relaxed, friendly, and supportive environment in west Toronto. You will learn the musical skills to play in a band, rhythmic ideas that help lock the band together, how to cue entrances and endings, and how to sing in harmony. Band members should have a year or more of playing experience, and a basic knowledge of chords (guitars, bass, piano, voice, drums, etc.), but you do not need to know how to read music. Join by yourself, with a friend, or sign up your whole band for extra coaching. The band members choose the songs and I help you arrange them. I have a diploma from the Berklee College of Music, Boston and a BFA from York University, Toronto, and have many years of experience playing in a variety of bands and coaching bands. I still get a thrill from teaching both young musicians and the young at heart. $300 for ten classes, 1.5 hours weekly.
