WV FOODLINK Food Access Planning Workshop - May 19th-20th, 2016 Morgantown, WV
WV FOODLINK ( is organizing the first Nourishing Networks Food Access PLanning on May 19th and 20th, 2016. We are recruiting workshop participants who are working in various settings to close food access gaps across the state. This includes but is not limited to Emergency Food Directors (Food Pantries, Soup Kitchens, Backpack Programs), Local Food System Developers (Community Gardens, Farms, Food Hubs etc.), State Assistance Coordinators (School meals, WIC, SNAP), Food and Nutrition Advocates (Extension officers, hunger/wellness coalitions), Food based entrepreneurs (Mobile markets, farm stands, market gardeners, CSA Farmers) etc.

Workshop Fee and What it Covers
The total cost for the workshop $150. Meal costs are included and will be provided throughout the workshop to participants. WV FOODLINK is currently exploring funding through grants for potential scholarships for those who may require assistance. Workshop participants will receive:

- Improvement on your own work through shared learning.

- Connections with allies to create plans for lasting change.

- Information on understanding food insecurity in your area.

- Early Access to our report “Nourishing Networks: Enhancing Food Access and Equity in WV.”

- Exclusive access to our new online Community Food Mapper

- A commitment to provide research support for your projects through our community of practice.

- Knowledge on how to conduct and use reaserch to promote community food security.

Will you require financial assistance to attend?
During the workshop, two breakfasts, two lunches, and one dinner will be provided and are included in the registration cost.

Lodging Informatin
Dormitory lodging can be provided on the campus of West Virginia University for an additional cost. Please select below if you plan to use the lodging on campus and, if so, which option you prefer. Linens will be provided for on-campus housing.
