Smoke-Free Air Resolution for Pennsylvania Businesses and Organizations
Because, Secondhand smoke kills thousands of Pennsylvanians every year and our business/organization believes we have a moral obligation to prevent these needless deaths; and
Because, Every person has the right to breathe clean, safe, smoke-free air, regardless of where they work; and
Because, The Pennsylvania Clean Indoor Air Act (CIAA) passed in 2008 included many exceptions, creating two classes of hospitality workers - those who are forced to work in smoke-filled environments and those who are not; and
Because, Ventilation systems do not protect our families and workers from secondhand smoke; and
Because, An Economic Impact Study released by the PA Department of Health in 2011 concluded that the CIAA had no negative economic impact on full/limited service restaurants or drinking establishments.
The undersigned Pennsylvania business/organization supports:
A comprehensive Clean Indoor Air law that includes 100% smoke-free workplaces, including ALL eating and drinking establishments and casinos in Pennsylvania.
