Counselor In Training (CIT) Job Description / Position Overview:
ÜberGrippen’s Counselor in Training (CIT) program is designed for teens ages 13-14 years old. CITs will learn leadership and communication skills, how to work with children, how summer camp at a recreational facility operates, and more. CITs will be prepared to work with youth in the future and this opportunity will be a great first “job.”
CITs will work closely with counselors to manage camper behavior, organize games, assist campers with equipment, serve meals, set up pre-camp and break down/clean up post camp. CITs will not be left alone with any campers through the duration of the camp.
Hours:
Camps run from Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm. CITs are expected to be available for the full week of camp and must be available from 8:30am-5pm each day.
CITs will be scheduled for a maximum of 2 weeks of summer camp.
Essential Functions:
CITs are still considered campers. All camp rules, policies, and expectations still apply to them.
During the camp day, some climbing and games may be available to the CIT if time permits. However, applicants should keep in mind that the purpose of this program is to provide CITs with a work-focused development opportunity.
CITs will be given an evaluation on the last day of camp.

- Belay Certified at ÜberGrippen prior to interview.
- Experience working with children ages 6-13.
