PM Session - Curriculum and Instructional Support Materials for Transition to Common Core Standards
This training will be held from 12:30-3:30 local time.
South Dakota is in the second year of a three year phase-in of the Common Core State Standards. The SD Department of Education and local school districts have been conducting Common Core State Standards training over the last two years. It is the expectation that special education teachers including those who teach students participating in the alternate assessment have been receiving training on the Common Core State Standards. The focus of this afternoon session is to introduce some of the math curriculum and instructional materials that have been developed to support students’ access to the grade level content of the Common Core State Standards.
This session is appropriate for special education teachers, curriculum directors, and administrators who will be teaching or training teachers who work with students participating in alternate assessments.
