This form is to be used specifically for the Government of Canada's Pre-Travel Approval process for students traveling to PEI. Returning students or students who began their studies overseas prior to fall 2022, may travel to Canada in the summer semester. However, you must be enrolled in at least one course. Students with admission to fall 2022 may only travel to Canada when it is within 30 days of the start of the academic semester. Those travelling earlier than this, risk being turned away by Canada Border Services Agency or having restrictions for work placed on their study permit.

Your request will be reviewed by the UPEI International Student Office and you will be contacted within three to seven days depending on the volume of requests. Your request must be submitted well in advance of your travel date but not more than thirty days prior to travel. All students traveling to Canada must be familiar with the federal government's rules and restrictions. It is the student's responsibility to be checking the federal Travel Testing and Borders webpage well in advance of their travel date: https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid
As of November 30th, 2021, all passengers on a Canadian flight must be fully vaccinated with a Canadian-approved vaccine. Please discuss your situation with the UPEI International Student Office if you do not meet these requirements.

The personal information requested on this form is collected under the authority of Section 31(c) of the PEI Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and will be protected under Part 2 of that Act.
