Why are you seeing my handwriting instead of text?

Because I'm trying something crazy. For the next couple of days, I'm writing everything I write as digital communication out by hand -- emails, Facebook posts, texts and tweets -- and sending or posting snapshots of the messages rather than typing up the text itself.

Why? I want to get mindful about just how much I actually write per day. We've become a society of writers. By tech author Clive Thompson's count, just sticking to email and social media we're cranking out 3.6 trillion words -- or the equivalent of 36 million books -- every day. I got the idea from Cristina Vanko, who sent all her text messages in calligraphy for a week and shared her experience in the Atlantic: http://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2014/06/i-sent-all-my-text-messages-in-calligraphy-for-a-week/373477/

Am I going to write about this? You bet. If you've got thoughts or feedback, I'd love to hear it. Email me at moniguzman@gmail.com or reach out on Facebook, Twitter (@moniguzman), anywhere.
