HONR100 New Section Leader Application

This application process will close on Sunday, March 10, 2013.
 
All applicants are required to interview for the position.  You will receive an email on how to schedule a Section Leader Interview the week of March 11, 2013.  Interviews will be conducted after spring break, March 25 - April 12.

If you are selected to be a Section Leader, you will be required to attend training on each of the following dates:
* Sunday, April 21, 2013, Noon - 3 PM; Make-up date is Friday, May 10 (Final Exam Reading Day)

Monday, August 26, 2013 and Tuesday, August 27, 2013 (Section Leader training for Honors Welcome Week and teaching HONR100)

Honors Welcome Week will be Wednesday, August 28- Friday, August 30, 2013

Exceptions will be made for religious observations.

Responsibilities of Section Leaders *
HONR100 Section Leaders mentor approximately 15 new Honors Terps. The Section Leader is responsible for creating a syllabus (within the parameters of course objectives), teaching once per week, grading assignments, and helping students transition to university life.  HONR100 will be taught on Mondays, 4-5:30 PM, Tuesdays 3:30-4:45 PM and Wednesdays 4-5:30 PM.  In addition, Section Leaders are required to attend a one hour weekly Section Leader meeting, immediately following the HONR100 class.  This meeting focuses on best practices for instructors.  HONR100 kicks off with Welcome Week and is a required part of the course.  Section Leaders guide students through the events and help build community with the class. Honors Welcome Week is August 28-30, 2013. Training  is August 26 and 27 and is also required.
