Irish West Camino - Pilgrims Inquiry
The Irish West Camino was officially launched on July 21st, 2024, when 21 pilgrims set out on an 8-day, 187-km walking pilgrimage across the west of Ireland.  We arrived to the top of the Reek, Croagh Patrick (or Cruachán Aigle), in the mid-afternoon on July 28th and spent the following three days out on Clare Island in Clew Bay for an integration retreat and rest.  In September 2025, twenty-three of us walked all the way across Ireland from Drogheda to Croagh Patrick.

What is in stow for 2026?  We will be walking from Downpatrick to Drogheda to Croagh Patrick for a total of +540-km during the Equinox in September.  For those who cannot walk the whole thing, we are also offering the option of just walking Leg 2 (Drogheda to Rathcroghan).

Fall Equinox Pilgrimage 2026 Full Details:  Want to walk the whole pilgrimage?  We will begin walking from Downpatrick (on Leg 1) on August 27, 2026, and arrive 8 days later in Drogheda (with 1 day break).  We will begin walking (Leg 2 and 3) from Drogheda on September 5 - arriving at Rathcroghan 10 days later on September 14 (followed by a 1 day break in Sligo) before beginning the last leg to Croagh Patrick on September 16, arriving to the Reek on September 24.  

An optional (and HIGHLY recommended) 3-day integration retreat (September 25-28) on Clare Island in Clew Bay will follow directly after the pilgrimage and is included in the price.  

Keep in mind, we are all deeply spiritual, and this is also a multi-faith group, but not religious.  We embrace the ancient pre-Christian as well as the Celtic-Christian and contemporary beliefs... but we are walking for the Deep Peace that the practice of walking meditation and pilgrimage nurtures.  Whatever your faith or lack therein may be, we believe there is room for everyone on this gorgeous journey.  We are walking for the hope of humanity.

Registration cost (w/ shared room) is expected to be (pending Euro to USD exchange):  $2,200 USD (€1,900) per person (for any single leg), and $3,750 (€3,200) per person (for two concurrent legs), or $4,925 (€4,220) per person (for all three legs) including a support vehicle (van), coach hire for necessary transportation days for the walk, breakfasts, guide/entrance/access fees, accommodations, post-walk integration retreat, ferry fees, and more. You will be responsible for your own flights to Ireland, lunches, snacks, and dinners.
